Wallpaper Collective

Because I had wallpaper in my room as a child, I love wallpaper for kids rooms. This one is from a company called wallpaper collective that has wallpaper from many different designers and many different designs to choose from. Our favorite that would look great with ducduc furniture and a bit old school (have fun describing records to your children!) is Analog Nights by Aime Wilder. And the site includes the handy wallpaper calculator to help you figure out how much to order. They will even help you find someone to hang it. How easy is that!

Modern Toy Wood Cars

We saw these on Design Therapy and loved them. Hand made by Patrick Weder in Brooklyn, we like the natural wood finish and abstract design. They will look great in the living room. You will still trip over them. You just won't curse as loudly.

Removable Numbers

These numbers caught our eye at Modern Family at Dwell on Design. They have a great graphic quality in bright colors. And the best part is they are removable, so you can put them on furniture or the wall and move them when you get inspired. For a good time call? 8675309? Probably not appropriate, but we bet you can come up with some clever ideas.

Create the perfect kids rooms!

With resources from 1st Dibs and ShopAD, including ducduc and Masongray, you can put together all the things you like in one clever portfolio system and create the perfect children's room. You can find great vintage pieces on 1st Dibs from around the world and new furniture and fabrics, and textiles on ShopAD. We love that you can keep everything in one place and share them with your decorator or friends. Start decorating!

Back to School!

Homework, yuck. Why not make it as enticing as possible (is that possible?) Take a look at one of our many desks; austin, alex, morgan, cabana, or campaign. We also have chairs, hutches and bookshelves that you can use to create a special place for studying, reading, the computer or all three. Offered in many colors and wood finishes, and small and large sizes, we are sure you will find something that fits your style. And will make the kids look forward to homework.

Good luck!

Art from the Start

We get a lot of requests for art for the kids rooms. And this is one of our favorite resources. NewEditions offers numbered editions of colorful, sophisticated, and yet playful prints from selected artists. Modern graphics to animals- we like them all! We know buying art can be intimidating but their website is informative, so you know exactly what you are getting. Look for a New Edition event in our renovated Soho showroom this fall. In the meantime check them out. And start collecting!

Charles and Ray Eames Elephant for kids!

We were walking past the Vitra store the other night and saw this adorable elephant in the window.  Turns out it is by Charles and Ray Eames, who actually got their start in children's furniture, and comes in 5 different colors.  It can be used outside too.  Fun for the kids and looks good in the yard too!

Cool Bunk Beds

This contemporary kid's room is from Southern Living's Sustainable Showcase Home in Greenville, South Carolina.  They have done a great job mixing colletions  from our modern kid's furniture, but adding traditional bedding, window treatments and accessories, bridging the gap between traditional and modern for a great look. The modern bunkbed is from the austin collection. The desk from our morgan collection.  And the armoire from our cabana collection. Check it out if you are in the area, or on line.

ducduc custom

One of the great things about having a factory in Connecticut is we are able to offer custom colors, designs, and finishes. At ICFF 2008 we launched ducduc custom, which really just means, give us a call with your custom requests! Our designers can even do color renderings of your  room  so you can see how everything would look.

New for Fall 2008

At the ABC Show in Las Vegas (that is the All Baby and Child Show for those of you who may not know and are not in the kids retail business) we are going to launch  several new designs.  A new austin playtable, a new twist on our campaign collection, a modern pink cabana vanity and  canopy crib with Tillet fabric and more storage solutions and options that can work with our desks.  They will be up on our site soon!
